What will you be sure to ask in an interview?
Often at interviews, they ask standard questions – about the previous place of work, the expected level of income, and career ambitions of the candidate. You also need to prepare for them: the inability to name your strengths or the lack of counter questions can alert the recruiter.

Tell us about yourself
Do not repeat what was written in your resume – most likely, the HR has already read where you studied and what company you worked for. Tell us about your work experience, name your areas of expertise and key skills, mention your successful experience in solving difficult situations, if any. Why did you leave your previous job?
Usually, managers or HRs of companies know in general terms how the business of competitors is. If you come to work in a similar company, answer honestly – tell them that the previous employer went bankrupt or laid off staff, you moved or come to the company for new prospects. Remember answers can be verified.
The second option is to shift the focus: say that you are not trying to escape from the previous place, but just want to work in another company. Argument your desire with facts about a new employer: for example, his field of activity is close to you, you want to work in a large stable company, or, on the contrary, choose a developing business to have broad career prospects.
Name your strengths

Tell us about your weaknesses
Do not talk about personal qualities, such as self-doubt or intolerance, do not bring up the topic of ethical standards (“I have a heightened sense of justice,” “I don’t know how to lie”), and don’t sign your own professional incompetence (“I don’t know English at all”, “I don’t I can work in cold sales “).

It is better if the answers to the questions are open-ended: instead of “I am an executive”, tell us how you set priorities during the working day; Instead of “I can work in a team,” give examples of how you found compromises and negotiated with colleagues from other departments.

Answer that you are going to move up the career ladder following company policy – of course, if this is true. Tell us that in the next few years you would like to start working with large or key clients, develop in positions, take on more responsibilities.

Why should we hire you?
Now you are expected to have a sales pitch – selling your own skills. This is the quintessence of interviewing and self-presentation in general, somewhat similar to listing strengths.
What are the main career achievements and key relevant skills, do not forget about courses and additional education. Illustrate each milestone with an example: “Resilience in general and the ability to work with problem clients, in particular, is one of my strengths. I think I can turn cold contacts into warm ones. What salary do you expect?
Usually, this question asks one of the last – you can not discuss it with the recruiter, but wait for a meeting with the immediate supervisor. Study the average earnings of people with your experience, see how other companies pay for the job you are applying for.
Prepare for this question as carefully as for others: for sellers, managers, and realtors, the ability to talk about money and personal gain is a necessary soft skill and test of communication skills.
